A biiig update, from the Circle K Leadership Academy

Hey everyone!

I just want to update you all on the current happenings of the Western Canada District Circle K, and myself.

Currently, I am at Camp Waycross in Morgantown, Indiana for Circle K Leadership Academy, staring at a wall, but at least I have internet access. I am the only one from our district attending the event. I am now done with my major exams until July, so I will have a lot more time for Circle K and getting things rolling for the District.

So, as I had stated before, I will likely not issue the third Issue of the Governor's Gavel until the end of May. I hope everyone had a chance to read through the last Issue of the Governor's Gavel. If not, download it at http://www.box.net/shared/7pz8o66naj.

I really want to hear feedback on where Mid-Summer Climax (July 3-5) will be held, and where and when Fall Training Retreat will take place. Please, please, PLEASE respond as we want as many members to attend these events that we haven't had in a long time.

With the end of May drawing near, so is the high school year. I recommend that each club do Key to College presentations for each Key Club in their area to inform students on the transition to university and informing them about Circle K! If you need help creating and presenting the workshop, just fire off an e-mail at me.

Speaking of Key Club, they are in the process of setting up their website! I will publish the link once it is up and running.

With the end of May comes the beginning of summer. Do not forget that there are PLENTY of volunteer opportunities available during the summer months, so get your Circle K clubs out and get involved! Just because school is out does not mean that the club does not meet, nor has projects.

I believe that is all for now. I'll post when I have more tidbits for you all!

Personal Update!

Hello!

I haven't been doing so much Circle K work lately because of two pending exams, so things have been not progressing. DOTC will be held later than I would like to hold it, but I cannot control those circumstances.

Expect a landslide of e-mails, updates, and communications to occur May 7th and May 8th, before I go back to the books for my other exam.

U of M Club Officer Training

U of M Club Officer Training took place April 30th and went relatively smoothly. The 4-hour session was filled with instruction, participation, and a lot of fun. All the executive attended and the session was rated a solid 7, with each executive learning something new about Circle K.

I am yet to hear back on the U of A Club Officer Training, but with the amount of time and effort put into it, I am sure it was a huge success.
